The FlexMBA Experience
The FlexMBA program is designed for working professionals with demanding jobs and significant responsibilities. Whether you join the FlexWeekend or FlexEvening MBA program, the goal of the school is to provide support and service that enable you to focus on learning and to maximize your opportunities to interact with faculty, business leaders, experts and your fellow students.
Exceptional administrative support ensures that your attention is on your education. MBA Programs staff handle registration and course enrollment, parking arrangements, and the ordering and distribution of textbooks and course materials. Staff are available during all class weekends and evenings to respond to individual needs or questions.
All entering FlexMBAs take classes with their cohort during the core curriculum, allowing you to build a strong network and solid working relationships. You will be in a study team during your core classes, a small group environment that offers support and provides opportunities for enhanced learning. During your elective curriculum, you have the option of taking elective courses across the Rady School, offering the opportunity to work directly with students outside your class cohort—and broaden your Rady network.
The FlexWeekend program schedule, Friday and Saturday of alternating weekends, allows you to focus fully on your education in intensive class periods and complete your Rady MBA in 24 months. The FlexWeekend MBA program provides all meals during class weekends, as well as lodging in a hotel near the Rady School. These program benefits allow students to work informally together outside of class, build camaraderie and friendships and enable students from outside San Diego to participate.
The FlexEvening program schedule, two evenings each week, allows you to complete your Rady MBA without regularly scheduled time away from your workplace. FlexEvening MBAs typically complete the Rady MBA in 30 months. Periodic residentials, including an opening residential, give you and your classmates the opportunity for more intensive interaction. Dinner is provided on class evenings, allowing you to come to campus directly from your workplace and use pre-class time to meet with colleagues or consult with faculty.
FlexMBAs also have full access to the services provided by MBA Career Connections, the school’s MBA career center. Career advisors have experience in assisting working professionals, whose goals may include career progression inside their current organization. MBA Career Connections develops programs specifically with FlexMBA career management needs in mind and undertakes targeted corporate outreach on behalf of the FlexMBA program and its students.
